Right now BP is being blamed for most, if not all, of the blame for what happened in the Gulf. i believe it should be more leaned on the United States government for different reasons. I understand that it is partly BP's fault because they did in fact shortcut their way around things to keep payments low but that is only the beginning of the problem. The government was missing. When a hurricane hits the coast and takes houses and jobs and even lives with it, it is the government's job to step in and help out. When an tsunami hits a country halfway around the world the American Government can find a way to get thousands if not millions of dollars in food and water over there within a week. But when there is an explosion in the Gulf of Mexico they found a way to say it is BP's job to clean it up. In order to attempt to clean it up they need what exactly; money, time, and physical help. What did our government tell BP as "relief"? If you clean this up we will let you continue to drill on American soil. Almost all of the states boardering the Gulf will be affected due to job loss, enviromental disgust, and frustrations. The government doesnt know what to do so they do nothing thus endangering all of the previous.
